Solution Architect job working remotely as part of the dynamic technology team at EMIS.

Your new role

We’re looking to appoint a brilliant Software Solution Architect who will take technical ownership of large delivery projects, not only designing, describing and managing solutions but also communicating them to the wider business.

This role will involve working cross functionally and to be successful you’ll need to be confident in collaborating with other teams to solve technical problems and build solutions, as well as presenting and communicating these to a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. Additionally you’ll also work directly with our customers, suppliers and third parties as to be able to fully understand problems and advise on the most appropriate solutions.

Providing technical leadership on your given projects will be key, you’ll be a point of contact for technical escalations as well as teaching, mentoring and influencing colleagues to drive effectiveness in our agile teams. Within this role you’ll be expected to have a broad understanding of a range of technologies especially modern cloud based technologies; coming from a Software Development background you’ll also need experience of working with microservices, eventual consistency patterns and containerisation.

This is a great opportunity for a software & cloud expert to join us, a leading Healthtech organisation to support with building, maintaining and improving our existing applications which ultimately have a positive impact on critical patient care.

Please note this is a remote based role however there may be semi-regular travel required to one of our collaboration hubs for meetings etc.

 

The team

You’ll work as part of our wider Technology department who work in an agile way and are currently transitioning to SAFe methodology, you’ll report into our Chief Architect, James. It’s currently an exciting time within our technology department as we continue to move towards a more cloud based approach, from IaaS to PaaS.

Who you’ll be

We want to make sure you’re set for success so the key skills we’re looking for in the role are below. We know not everyone ticks all the boxes and we’ll provide training on some of the areas if you’re the right person for the role.

  • Significant experience in similar role within architecture, ideally within healthcare or a regulated industry
  • Experience with cloud technologies is essential, preferably AWS / but we are open to Azure/GCP if the other experience is right
  • Exposure to architectural frameworks such as TOGAF would be advantageous
  • Ability to work cohesively with a broad range of stakeholders and ability to adapt communication as required
  • Experience within Software Development and specifically working with microservices, containerisation & eventual consistency patterns
  • Experience supporting a team to deliver into production & working with production systems.
