This is a {Advertised Permanent / Temporary}, {Advertised Full Time / Part Time} vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

As an SRE you will work closely with the wider SRE and DevOps teams to define, implement and maintain technical & engineering solutions, infrastructure architecture, automation, and operational processes. This role requires you to be part of an on-call rota and participate in occasional out-of-hours activities.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing the reliability, availability and performance of software products in our portfolio

Day to day, your responsibilities and accountabilities will include;

  • Implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to ensure consistent and reproducible environments
  • Monitoring and analysing system performance using tools like DataDog to identify and address issues before they become problems
  • Drive observability at every level and support baselining of response times and error rates. 
  • Define monitoring standards for cloud services and support teams in implementation
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement reliable and scalable software systems
  • Define service level objectives, service level indicators and error budgets in collaboration with SRE Lead Manager, DevOps and Software Engineers.  

 

Who you’ll be

We are seeking a talented and experienced Site Reliability Engineer with a strong focus on AWS and cloud monitoring to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and experience working with monitoring and logging tools like DataDog.

You will most likely have (if not all, some);

  • Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Terraform, or similar).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (particularly GitHub actions and Azure DevOps Pipelines).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
