User Researcher

In this new role you will work closely with the User Research Manager and will form part of a collaborative team of UX Researchers, leading and aligning user research activities across multiple projects. You will work closely with your peers, promoting a user centred and evidence based approach to product and service design.

The User Researcher will contribute to defining our internal research capability and identify the tools, processes and methodologies needed to respond to the needs of Product Teams and other parts of the business.

Some of your main responsibilities with include:

  • Align user research sessions and activities with product objectives and priorities.
  • Design and conduct research studies, presenting findings to inform new product features and roadmaps.
  • Work closely with Product Designers to help embed rapid research & findings into agile teams and process.
  • Work with wider Product Experience & Design team to help create a culture of user centred and evidence based Product Design and Delivery.
  • Actively engage stakeholders in Research activities.
  • Facilitate Design Thinking workshops.
  • Together with Product Design, create and maintain Personas.
  • Get actively involved in our various User Groups and seek the input from end users.
  • Maintain a central repository of insights.
  • Support and evangelise the wider Product Experience & Design strategy.
  • Identify and stay up to date with UX research methodologies and tools.

 

The team you’ll join

You’ll report to the User Research Manager in a new team headed up by our Head of Product Experience & Design. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Product Designers, User Researchers and Engineers.

Please note that EMIS has now transitioned to being a predominantly homeworking business, but you should be prepared to travel to our collaboration hubs as required.

 

What you’ll bring

We want to make sure you are set for success, so here are some of the skills and experiences we’re keen to see:

  • Extensive experience of designing and running all types of UX research (remote, lab, usability, observational, focus groups, card sorts, quantitative surveys, behavioural insights, 1:1 interviews)
  • Confident presenter, with the ability to influence your audience to focus on user needs rather than solutions.
  • Good presentation creation skills & delivery
  • Experience of helping team members adopt a wide range of user research methods
  • Ability to think creatively around how to use business insights and mix research methods to help identify the root cause of user pain points.
  • Experience within the Healthcare sector desirable
